Pakistan, Taiwan and ray of hope for students seeking admission in PhD

PhD Opportunities in Taiwan

Pakistan and Taiwan don't enjoy sound diplomatic relations due to number of geo-political reasons. Being at the leading edge in technology, Taiwan attracts many brilliant minds from around the world to study or work here. Admission in master and PhD are offered annually or bi-annually but study in Taiwan for Pakistani students is always challenging and difficult. Despite of having tight or less diplomatic relations, every year many Pakistani students apply for higher studies (Master and PhD) in the universities across Taiwan and surprisingly, many of them compete and get selected annually especially for PhD study in several fields of applied sciences.

The elite research institute in Taipei; Academia Sinica, attracts more number of students than any university in Taiwan. On average, usually 10 to 15 students secure admissions in Academia Sinica which has affiliation with many renowned universities in the country and selected students are admitted in PhD on behalf of Academia Sinica.

Major problem for Pakistani students starts after getting admission confirmation. Core requirement for all Pakistani students is to attest their testimonials from Taipei Economic and Culture Representative Office (TECRO) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. So, potential students are advised to send their documents to Saudi Arabia for attestation and then get the visa of Taiwan from Dubai, Thailand, Saudi Arabia or Hong Kong. Mostly students choose Thailand due to the ease of information available by the experience of senior students in Taiwan who guide them about resident, Halal meal and visa requirement in TECRO, Bangkok, Thailand.

This blog is created to guide new comers, aspirants and visitors coming to Taiwan to get all the related information on one page.

We hope our initiative to guide students and can play a vital role bridging educational distances between Pakistan and Taiwan.
