A Question Answer session was organized online to provide necessary information regarding admission in PhD study in Taiwan especially under Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP), Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan. More than 700 students from various disciplines from all over the Pakistan has joined the events and got information about admission requirements, programs offered, scholarship,  accommodation, eligibility etc. Under this post, most of the questions were taken from that session and copied for further help/guidance to aspirants seeking admission in Taiwan for higher studies.

NOTE: All these questions and answers are taken from the QA event and posted here for the sake of information. Few Questions are repeated and are in jumbled form (copied as received)   

Q: I am selected in Taiwan conference 3 days before but my teacher said Taiwan embassy is not in Pakistan so how i complete this trip. What i do if i want to attending this event.

Ans: For short trip they (Organizer of the Conf )can provide visa facilitation letter which is used for On-Arrival Visa (at the airport)

Q: Can you please tell us about the CGPA requirements ? And GRE ?

Ans. There is no specific requirement for CGPA or GRE... Its merit based. Better is good..

Q: My Question is With out GRE Score are we eligible to apply on BS degree(4 years ) for direct PhD...? becz i read the instruction it was mentioned that with GRE score the chances of selection is more for candidates having BS degree

Ans:yes i am in NTU, its a multi cultural uni. more than 50 countries students studying in it. with excellent facilities and quality.
Ans2: Yes but it varies from program to program. But I'll strongly encourage you to apply along with your GRE scores. As it will increase your chances greatly.

Q: For PhD in Bio-industry Communication and Development from National Taiean University, what is language of study and when and how to apply for admission and scholarship??

A: You can only give information about TIGP scholarships, applications form have already started. TIGP will then enroll u in different universities of Taiwan if u selected. 
but if u want to apply directly ot NTU u can just go to website and apply online and medium of instruction is English

Q: How competitive other universities in Taiwan are as compared to National Taiwan University. Any Pakistani is student there? What are major cultural and academic differences that Pakistani students see when they get in there?

Ans1: yes i am in NTU, its a multi cultural university with more than 50 countries students studying in it and having excellent facilities and quality.
Ans2: Almost all of the universities in Taiwan are highly competitive and are in QS ranking including NTU and NTHU. As far as academic environment is concerned they are far better than any Pakistani university.

Q: Is English Proficiency certificate issued from University enough? Suggestion for those who have CGPA round about 3.2???

Ans1: yes it is sufficient, but IELTS/TOFEL will increase ur selection chances.

Ans2: yes. It is enough. If you have English Proficiency certificate your English proficiency criteria will be waived. But make sure it is officially issued.

Q: Is there any field related to Industrial Engineering or Industrial System Engineering for PhD Scholarship?

Ans: In Academia Sinica you can find a department of your specific topic interest (for example Material Science), but there are many universities in Taiwan where Engineering Discipline is there for Master n PhD

Q: I want to apply for Phd chemical engineering, 1)which is best university, 2) can i apply without Ielts GRE.  2) can i apply without Ielts GRE. I have 5 publications please suggest

Ans1: You are not supposed to apply in any university. All you need is just appky in TIGP PhD program.

Ans2:  You can apply to Sustainable Chemical Science & Technology (SCST) of TIGP, they will assign you a university...National Chiao Tung University

Q: I Would like to ask that how much GPA in BS is required for Earth System Science. Also GRE scores. Has anyone there with him in Ph.D who has directly got in after BS

Ans: There is no such barrier of CGPA in ESS, you can apply but with better CGPA your chance of admission will increase, No strict requirement for GRE, better if passed

Yes, there are many students with BS degree

Q: I have MS in environmental sciences no publications yet and no IELTS can i apply for PhD?

Ans: Chances of admission are less but if you have very strong Statement of Purpose (SOP), it may work, Better to have IELTS atleast

Q: My question is related to TIGP internship program. It seems like only chemistry and biology students are eligible, because programs are of biology and chemistry. I am electronic engineering student am i eligible?

Ans: for internship, you should select some relevant field..

Q: What are the opportunities for Doctor? if i am selected for PHd in neuroscience, will i able to practice clinally? Or i need to give any license exam?

Ans: I am afraid that there are no programs for doctors. But yes if you find any particular program intersting, you can apply. But in that case kindly review the website of that program and make sure that you understand their research areas. As all program are interdisciplinary.

Q: I have done bs electrical engineering with 2.1 CGPA, can i apply for phd direct?

Ans: Still, You can give a try to MST program of TIGP

Q: Iam currently bs chemical eng with 88% score. but no ielts gre and research background..do I have a chance ? university English proficiency letter will be enough ? Which program should I go for ?

Ans: Sustainable Chemical Science & Technology (SCST), MST and Nano

Q: Can someone tell me that if I would send my original transcripts then how it would be returned to me in case if unfortunately I am not selected?

Ans: no need to send original transcript. just photo copy or original

Q: I intend to apply for the Nanoscience program after a BS degree. I have a decent CGPA and IELTS band 7 but no gre score (either general or subject). It is written in the respective progam that " If under special circumstances the test is not taken, some proof of applicant’s competency might be considered. This proof should be more than just recommendation letters and transcripts, for example, documents like award record, exam scores of national or international level, scientific publications, etc. will be helpful". Should i apply without GRE as there is less time left for the application. 

Ans: Yes you can apply without it. But applying with GRE score will increase your chances greatly.

Q: I have BCS (hons) and have no research .can I get admission in MSC computer science or computer networks specifically

Ans: Sorry SNHCC do not accept students who have Bachelor's degree

Q: Can i apply for under graduation level i.e B.s in Biotechnology, or Micro bio or bio chemistry or medicine

Ans: No. only for postgraduate studies.

Q: My Question is With out GRE Score are we eligible to apply on BS degree(4 years ) for direct PhD...? becz i read the instruction it was mentioned that with GRE score the chances of selection is more for candidates having BS degree?

Ans: yes u can apply but chances r greater to b selected when u have GRE. especially with bachelor background.

Q: my question is related to documents, they said that you should send your degree, transcript and ielts result by post in university sealed envelop I want to ask that if it is not possible then we can send by self or it is compulsory to send by institute

Ans1: You can apply online by scan copies and later you need to bring these attested documents with you

Ans2:   No need to send documents by university. u just submit online copies in application form. and then u will get confirmatory email from them

Q: do the photocopies need to be attested by HEC?

Ans: No need to attest photocopies, just attest original degree and transcript and then make photocopy of attested and send

Q: what is the different ways to apply for TGIP? through university or direct TGIP website? like csc doesn't receive applications directly...

Ans: Direct TIGP website,. online apply

Q: How can we make our application stand out from others?

Ans: Good academic record, a better SOP

Q: invitation letter from supervisor is must in this scholarship program???

Ans: In TIGP no need of acceptance letter from supervisors. u will apply online by submitting scan copies. and then admission committee will evaluate your documents.

Q: Does Acceptance letter from Supervisor is mandatory to apply for these scholarships?

Ans: No

Q: My question is that I am studying master in china am I eligible for the internship program? and If I am eligible then I have to send the bachelor transcript or the Ist semester MS result?

Ans: Yes. You are eligible. 1st semester MS transcript. But can attach BS transcript as well along with it. But you need to attach that program transcript which you are pursuing.

Q: can we apply via English proficiency certificate from the parent university or ielts is compulsion?

Ans: Yes, English Proficiency is enough if you dont have IELTS / TOEFL

Q: Is there any field related to Telecommunication Engineering for PhD Scholarship?

A: yes, 12 programs mentioned in PDF file contains program related to ur field.

Q: Do they provide accommodation in Internship program ?

Ans: Yes, TIGP provides accommodation 

Q: Is it compulsory to submit TOEFL/GRE report cards through ETS officials? or they can also accept the scan copy.

Ans: GRE you have submit by ETS official score anyhow.

Q: So anyone whose GPA is less than 3 are not eligible?

Ans: for most programs, minimum 3 is compulsory. u can read instructions related to ur field mentioned in PDF file

Q: Is it mandatory to send documents in hard form ?

Ans: No. All documents you have to upload online until or unless asked to provide in hard form. I did not submit any thing in hard form.

Q: this is mentioned in the how to apply section "If you apply online, you will only need to submit your academic transcripts and test score(s) (TOEFL/IELTS/GRE) by post". Should i post them or not?

Ans: No. Only upload them online. It will work. No need to send anything by post until asked specifically.

Q: suggestion for those who are in last semester of BS(IT/CS) what documents v have to prepare. plzzz mention some fields for computer background students

Ans1: CS field is very much relevant to SNHCC but they do not accept Bachelor's students unfortunately

Ans2: 

SNHCC don't accept students with BS degree. Only Masters degree holders are eligible .

Q: is there microbiology ?

Ans:  All the programs are interdisciplinary. Microbiology applications are involved in many programs like CBMB, MST , check details in guide and website

Q: Is there any university which offers Environmental Sciences program to enroll the bachelor student directly in PHD, specialization in GIS ?

Ans: Check this program "Sustainable Chemical Science & Technology (SCST)" 

Q: If i apply for phd after bs and do it, how can i be equal to that student who spent more 2 years for MS in this field?

Ans: It is same. No difference. Because at the end you will be having PhD degree in hand.

Q: What about mbbs qualified pepl...? Can they do apply for phd etc.

Ans: Molecular Medicine is the best field for MBBS.

Q:  when is last date to apply wht is it eligibilty crit. For those with MBBS

Ans: 31 March last date. requirements mentioned in the PDF file

Q:Does Acceptance letter from Supervisor is mandatory to apply for these scholarships?

A: No need for acceptance letter, once you apply, you just need to mention 2 or 3 professors of your interest (from your program list)
Department take decision by keeping in loop your selected/relevant professors

Q: fresh graduate, now want to enroll himself as electrical engineer for further MS in taiwan...! how is it possible with scholarship..?

Ans: TIGP is also for PHD, some program you can apply with BS degree, check website

Q: I have B.E electronics with 2.59/4.0 with Ielts 7.0 interested in nanotechnology so am I eligible to apply? What will be the future of these degree in term of job (PHD in Social Networks and Human-Centered Computing or Nano Science and Technology), well the subject with these degrees are much based on applied physics not with engineering that is felt, is it??

Ans: yes, its research focus degrees, however its all depend on your PhD thesis topic

Q: Is it possible to get job after phd in tiwan or during PHD can we also do some kind of job?

Ans: You can get job after PHD depending your academic record

Q: Wats the scope of internship in taiwan?will it be beneficial?

Ans: Yes. Highly technical and interdisciplinary. But we will encourage you to apply for PhD program rather than internship

Q: I have done bs electrical engineering with 2.1 CGPA ... can i apply for PhD direct.

Ans: I am afraid this GPA is not sufficient for TIGP, as minimum requirements is 3:00

Q: My M.Phil is coursework and research is completed. thesis is ready ready but final touch of supervisor is remaning. am i eligible for phd. thanks

Ans: Yes, you can apply

Q:I have done MPhil in Biotechnology with CGPA of 4,00/4.00. I want to apply for 3 programs For PhD. 1) Molecular Biology and Agriculture Sciences (Plant science and Biotechnology). 2) Molecular and Cell Biology. 3) Nanoscience and Technology (NanoBiotechnology)...I have My Degrees and Transcripts as well as English proficiency Certificate. I have read your provided instructions. Please guide me whether i only have to apply online on the relevant links of each program? or i should contact the supervisors or universities? 

Ans: ok, no need to contact individual supervisors. just apply online application form where u will have 3 preferences of programs. and the admission committee will evaluate ur documents. with ur records u have maximum chances to b selected

Q: My GRE physics score is 71 percentile and GRE general score is 291 and 3.8 GPA in M.Phil out of 5 can i apply for PhD physics

Ans: yes ur record seems strong, u can apply .u can read research areas in different programs. there r many areas related to physics especially in Nano.

Q: Either it is necessary after filling online application form, to submit the documents in Hard copy to the concern university?

Ans:  for the selection process you have to submit scan docs online

Q: (1) TIGP have 12 programs and having two categories depending upon the applying condition for example in one category, applicants can apply only for one program while in other 11, applicants can apply one or two programs, I want to ask that any applicant can apply in both categories, one in first category program like chemical biology and molecular biophysics and one in other category like Interdisciplinary Neuroscience program..(2) this scholarship is not include tuition fees, we have to pay fee by self and will pay only this amount NT$34,000/month (approx. USD1,133) not tuition fee..(3) anybody can afford family in Taiwan with this scholarship or not...Thanks a lot

Ans: 1- Yes you can apply in more than one program by selecting your preference 2- Yes, you have to pay fee by yourself, but scholarship is enough, 3- Yes, you can afford you family here... we have one example...

Q: How many students are given accomodation in a domitory?

Ans: All first year students will get dormitory.

Q: the transctipt university give before completion of degree is a black in white page having signs of H.O.D and principal is it enough to send???

Ans: Yes, you can apply

Q: According to the information given on the website, a monthly stipend of $1030 will be provided which i guess will be enough for accommodation and other expenses but waiver of tuition fee is not mentioned , do the students have to pay by themselves?

Ans: It is quite enough and very handsome amount. u will pay tuition fee from the stipend u get. so no problem of money when u r getting monthly stipend. The dormitory is provided at minimal charges i.e. around 5000 NTD

Q: I am planning to appear for GRE test next month. I have 2.64 in BS chemical engineering. And 3.1 in MS energy systems.What are my chances in getting a PHD though TIGP? (I just need an idea.. the rest is, thanks to you guys, available here)

Ans: you can apply in Sustainable Chemical Science & Technology (SCST) ... your academic record suits for admission in this program. Your chances soelly depends upon the way you represent yourself. Even students with low GPA have been selected and even students with high GPA rejected. All of it depends upon ur profile + CV + GRE + IELTS these things

Q:  For SNHCC program, if someone like to have degree like PhD in Computer Science other then Programs mention on the website because title of degree matters . Secondly if someone want to select Research topic like Computer Networks or cloud computing what will be the procedure?

Ans: Degree will be PhD in social networks, and research should be totally in social networks related subjects

Q: my question is related to TIGP internship. i'll apply for my passport on coming Monday and there is mentioned that i have to apply two weeks before from last date so how much chances for me because passport process is 15 days ...

A: you can apply even on last date, better if you apply early

Q: What about Life and Environmental sciences ? which Major the can Apply for?

Ans: ESS program is best for you

Q: can we extend the duration of internship???

Ans: No, its just for 2 months. In previous records, majority of inertness have been admitted to PhD programs. So the candidate who will do internship will definitely have a preference.

Q: selecting 3 different professors means we can apply in 3 different programs. so do we have to write 3 separate motivational letters ? OR is it better to focus on a single discipline and write all 3 professors from same program ?

Ans: 1- It’s a research center, having collaboration with top universities of Taiwan, 2-You can give preference first, second and third while applying, this will increase chance for admission

Q: can i apply for internship and phd at the same time now????

Ans: yes, you can apply

Q: Will you people guide us if we face any problem during application process??????

Ans: whole process is smooth and calm, hopefully no problem will occur. The administration is very cooperative we will also do our best to help all Pakistani Bro.

Q: Urban and regional Planners can apply for Earth System and science Program?

Ans: It depends upon your topic of interest, Many people working of Urban Heat Island Effect, You can apply, but first try to find some prof of your interest whose research overlaps your interest

Q: I would like to know about the Universities providing scholarships to the Pure Mathematics students having research experience with one research publication, looking for a Phd position.

Ans: Unfortunately SNHCC is not about pure Mathematics.. its about Computer Science

Q: Does TIGP charge application processing fee????

Ans:  No Application Fee 

Q:  The internship program is not fully funded.those who can't afford what should they do??

Ans: You should apply in it.. You half of the ticket will also get reimbursed once you join here.

Q: I have B.Sc. Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Can i eligible for P.h.D.? What program is related to my degree. I search, but not found out of 12 programs. Nano Science and Technology is only some what related.Is it necessary to apply for same field or minor change does not effect in future?

Ans: Molecular Science and Technology Program (MST) and Nano , both are suitable for your research area. You can apply for both. Mostly PhD programs are multidisciplinary, plz read in detail and let us know if any area of research you like. Does not effect future, just go for your interest, I have changed to chemistry from electronics

Q: Is there any fully funded undergraduate scholarship?

Ans:  This program is only for PHD... Undergrad study here is in chinese mostly..

Q: After Finding Professor related to my major, I should Contact him for acceptance OR I should discuss his research in my motivation?

Ans: Why you are searching professor? As I already answered that you are not supposed to contact any faculty in terms of applying to TIGP PhD program

Q: Can we send notarized photocopy instead of original documents for TIGP internship program.

A: Attestation from Ministry of Foreign Affair (MOFA, Pakistan) and HEC is necessary,

Q: my bs is not completed yet and i am intrested in internship the transcript university give is a black n white printed paper having signs of hod and principal is it sufficient for applying???

Ans:  If your BS will complete till Aug 2017, you can apply. Yes, you can attest your previous transcripts

Q; How to increase my chance of selection in its internship program ? What specifically do u suggest?

Ans: Write a strong SOP along with good academic 

Q: After enrollment, how many chances to get scholarship opportunity or fellowship support in the following years of PhD?

A: Almost 100 %, until you could not fulfill your academic requirements.

Q:  I did Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) which is equal to 17 years education. 5 YEARS after Intermediate. Included 225C .hours. I have one publication. 2year work experience in the relevant field. I have IELTS but that will be expire in Feb. Can I apply for P.HD? If yes, then which university and how much chances. .

Ans: then Biological related programs r best for u. To select which program is suitable, u can just see the research area of each program and the courses they r teaching then u can easily find program of ur choice. read the website of above mentioned programs. links to website contain in PDF file

Q: I have 3.89 CGPA and 1 Journal Publication while doing Bs Electrical Telecommunication Engineering, Kindly advise me about Masters Scholarship

Ans: This program is only for PhD, but you can apply in some subject even with BS degree

Q: How to write an effective SOP for internship program so that chance of selection increase ?

Ans: Following points should be address in personal statement 

• Brief introduction
• Education
• Previous research experience
• Research interest
• Motivation for study / MS /PhD
• Motivation for this Lab / University
• Benefits to the community
• Future plan
• Acknowledgment

Study the program of your interest in detail. Choose some labs of your interest and try to write short but comprehensive SOP related to the specific research going in the lab you are interested

Q: what we have to do in internship in 2 months???Research work???

Ans: Just familiarity with the research work, no intense research

Q: How much time it take to complete phd after BS from tigp????

Ans: depends on each department.. there are some department in which students with Bachelor's degree finished their PhD in 4-5 years but normally it takes 5 or more than 5 years

Q: After doing BS Electronics in power electronics and wireless communication which field is best for taking admission in Taiwan ?? If Nano technology then what's scope and ratio of finding job there after degree ?

Ans: In TIGP , yes Nano programme is best for you otherwise Taiwan has a lot if universities so you can search for it

Q. Should I contact any professor for acceptance letter?

Ans. NO ! A big No ! (X)

Q: From whom I can get Recommendation letter? Professor, associate professor , Academic Tutor, Boss(office)... etc? Is there any Criteria ?

Ans: Professor`s letters r best

Q: In Taiwan, they have research based degree or course work type in U.S.A?professor are tough like Korea or little bit normal like Europe?

Ans: they are good if you are good 

Q; how we will get visa for Taiwan? is there embassy in Pak?

Ans: There is no embassy of Taiwan in Pakistan,
To get the visa of Taiwan, you have to travel either of these countries- Thailand, Hong Kong, Dubai or Saudi Arabia,

Q:To get visa you have to travel Dubai, Saudia e.t.c..? Is this correct.?

Ans: Yes, because there is no Embassy of Taiwan in Pakistan, you have to travel where there is consulate/embassy of Taiwan is

Q: is it possible my father get my visa from Taiwan embassy?as he is in Dubai

Ans: It's not possible as he can't take your passport for stamping g visa

Q: professor acceptance is necessary for TIGP program? I want to apply for P.h.D.

Ans:  No. You are not supposed to contact any professor

Q:  Just mention name of professors? that i like in the online form?

Ans: Yes. I'll strongly recommend you to mention names of some professors you want to work with.. names 1 or 2 with whom you are interested.. and also read his papers to get a review of his research area.. as by discussing it you will have greater chances,,

Q: How much chance to get scholarship? What is the basic requirements

Q: Recommendation letter should be specially pointed towards the program, i am applying for OR I can be general ?

Ans: It could be general or specific as you or your supervisor like it.. But it should be well written and specifically addressed to TIGP officials..

Q: Kindly Give Information about Documents authentication and Visa Issue, As Many Taiwanese Embassies are not Willing to entertain Pakistani Applicants.

Ans: Once you got admission then we can tell the procedure . Don't worry

Q:  Can the reference letters of professors be from different universities and different departments?

Ans: No worries,  From any university around the world, better if your referee is a big name

Q: TIGP program is for only one university or it have more than one universities?

Ans: TIGP is a program being run by Academia Sinica (Elite research center) with collaboration of several renowned universities of Taiwan

Q: I have done Industrial engineering from UET PESHAWAR with 2.94. And.now currently enrolled in UET Lahore for MS. IELTS 6 BANDS KINDLY guide me to get this scholarship.

Ans: Go through these programs of TIGP and find which suit you the best... Molecular Science and Technology Program (MST) Nano Science and Technology (NANO) Sustainable Chemical Science & Technology (SCST)

Q: I am in final year of BS Electrical and Electronics Engineering. I didn't find relevant info about my field in your list.I wanna know what opportunities are there for graduates in BS Electrical and Electronics engineering.

Ans: There are many programs in which you can apply. NANO, SNHCC, MST and INS

Q: Recommendation letters should be latest or old one. I mean, I have 1 year old letters, i got them from my B.Sc. professors. My professors will fill them online? or i need hard form?

Ans: Better if latest and specific for Taiwan. Sometimes need online filling by profs.

Q:  In funding, they have written, they will evaluate a student after every year. scholarship is for complete P.h.D duration or half duration?

Ans: They will evaluate but mostly all students get scholarship till 3rd years and then the thesis adviser will pay the scholarship for next years.

Q: Is there any internship program for bachelors in computer systems engineering? Or for networking?

Ans: SNHCC is for CS

Q: I have successfully applied for internship and two reference letters are also uploaded by my last attended institute Professors. Now i only need to send hard copy of Transcript or other documents also.? and from where i can attested my transcript what is the next step kindly guide.

Ans: You need to contact your program secretary for this information

Q: I got acceptance form National Taiwan University, what should i do next, there is no info at their website. 

Ans: if you got acceptance for Master or PhD, you have to 

1.attest your documents from HEC and Foreign Office
2. Send documents to Saudi Arabia (Riyadh), to attest from Pakistan embassy and Taiwan Embassy (Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office)
3. Get visa of Thailand (or Dubai/Hong Kong)
4. Apply visa of Taiwan from Thailand (or Dubai/Hong Kong)

Q: I'm doing BS biotechnology 8th semester.currently my CGPA is 3.64. but i have no publications and any research experience.can i apply for this scholarship?? and like saying that for getting visa go to Dubai etc on own expenses and half ticket fare etc. how much it will cost?

Ans: Your GPA is good enough, you can apply, just go through this website to find your suitable program http://tigp.sinica.edu.tw/and Shcolarship is good enough but you have to buy air tickets by yourself...

Q: can we apply for management science Scholarships in Taiwan (TIGP)

Ans: For management sciences, chances are less, due to language barrier. National Central University offers PhD in Management science with English courses

Q; Whats about cost of living expenses for a single person? including housing, eating and etc. round about per month?

Ans: For PhD, you get 1100USD, almost 50% you can spare after a handful expense, Depends upon your style of living

Q: Is it necessary to get acceptance letter from TIGP professor for undergraduate internship program?

Ans: No

Q: One final query for the Statement of Purpose. While applying for scholarships like Erasmus Mundus etc it is clearly mentioned what exactly to include in the letter plus the word limit etc.Any tip for TIGP (excluding the one to mention the Professor of our research interest) and word limit? A 600-700 word letter would work?

Ans: Write what ever you would like to.. but it should not be garbage or boring.. you have free space to discuss whatever you want .. but make sure it contains all the necessary things

Q: Is it Necessary can include extra curricular activities and future plans ?

Ans: Future plans related to research are important, Draft convincingly, they are less attractive towards extra curricular activities

Q: Do we need to travel to countries like Dubai or Thailand for visa related with internship?

Ans: For internship case, you can ask to TIGP, either they can provide Visa Facilitation Letter and you can get On-Arrival visa in Taiwan or not,  For short duration they do.

Q: Is their is any person in Taiwan that get PhD after BS. As I applied last year but got rejection as i have CGPA: 3.5/4.00.

A: Competition is very tough, you can apply again with strong Statement of Purpose (SOP)

Q: I have quite low GPA as being from engineering background I have 3.12 / 4.0 , but even then I got selected..

Ans: For guys who are interested after BS..
1. Don't worry about GPA
2. Work on your application seriously
3. Make an excellent SOP
4. Prepare a scientific and comprehensive research proposal
there are many factors which lie behind selection.

Q: I have done Industrial engineering from UET PESHAWAR with 2.94. And.now currently enrolled in uet lahore.for MS. IELTS 6 BANDS KINDLY guide me to get this scholarship.

Ans: yes ur requirements r ok. u need to study the research areas of programs. there r many professors working in this field

Q: is GRE essential for take admission please guide me?

Ans: Yes. It is. If you only have Bachelor's degree then you have to submit your GRE scores. As it will increase your chances of selection.

Q; In GRE how much score is required and also is 5.5 IELTS enough for selection or must need higher band?

Ans;  You are not supposed to give a very high score.. Even you can apply with a minimal score..

Remember, Academia Sinica is a highest prestige research center in Tawian where we usually find Nobel Laureates for invited talks. If admitted, you will find state of the art research facilities with very nice people around you.
